ocated in the idyllic village of Hepburn Springs, Villa Parma offers luxury self-contained accommodation in the heart of Daylesford and the Macedon Ranges. Nestled within the grounds of Peppers Mineral Springs Hotel amongst European topiary gardens and scented bay trees, Villa Parma has stood as an iconic landmark in Hepburn Springs for almost 150 years.
In the mid 1800s Swiss-Italian immigrants were lured to Daylesford and Hepburn Springs to seek their fortunes during the gold rush. In 1864 during that boom Villa Parma had its grand beginnings as a stately family home, surrounded by gardens and vineyards.
The property has transitioned through time as a guest house, bed and breakfast and even a restaurant. It has remained largely untouched retaining all its charming Victorian and Swiss-Italian architecture and gardens and was heritage listed in 1985.
In 2006, owners Chris Malden and Wayne Cross restored Villa Parma to its original Italian Palazzo inspired state, breathing new life into one of Hepburn Springs’ oldest buildings. Utilizing the existing architectural template, they created a carefully considered and beautifully crafted amalgamation of untold history, with astonishing contemporary elegance.
The historical details all tell a story; it’s easy to imagine the lady of the house gazing out one of the original wooden bedroom windows, or feather quill scratching away correspondence at the old writing desk.
To this day visitors to the region continue to enjoy the rejuvenating mineral waters, the natural assets, plus the significant arts, fine wines and superb dining, outdoor leisure activities and accommodation. Villa Parma is regularly inhabited by families and celebration groups as luxuriously comfortable accommodation, with fine banqueting in the underground cellar.
Every week Villa Parma creates new stories and memories; as a much sought after venue for wedding parties, milestone birthdays, anniversaries, and groups of friends gathering together for special occasions.
